Play videoEnvironmental Thesis
Nowadays there are more than 70,000 chemical products in the world, with the vast majority being harmful to human health and to the environment. The substitution of synthetic (oil-derived or inorganic chemicals) flavours and colours with raw materials from natural origins, which are renewable in nature and do not pose any health issues, is becoming a preferred choice of industrial players and consumers in the food value chain. Thanks to its leadership position, Nactarome Group is proactively supporting the shift toward natural-based products via a significant development plan that already translated in year-on-year growth rate for natural-based product in excess of 10%. In the coming years, Nactarome Group’s commitment to further develop its natural products portfolio will represent the most significant growth driver with the aim to address the increasing demand for more healthy and sustainable products.
Business
Nactarome Group (formerly known as AromataGroup), headquartered in Bresso (Italy), is a buy-and-build platform aimed to create a leading player in natural, healthy and tasty food ingredients serving small and mid-size food companies across Europe.
Ambienta initiated this buy-and-build project in November 2018 with the acquisition of AromataGroup (“Aromata”), in partnership with Aromata’s founding management team. A leading player in the manufacturing of flavours and colours for the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and cosmetics industries, Aromata expanded into the savoury market in July 2019 through the acquisition of IPAM, the Italian market leader in breading and battering solutions and functional ingredients for the food industry. In December 2019, Aromata strengthened its international presence and further expanded its product offering through the acquisition of Nactis Flavours, a leading player in France and Belgium in flavours, colours, extract ingredients and functional solutions for the food industry. The combined group, renamed Nactarome, made a further built on its strategy with the acquisition of Create Flavours in April 2020, expanding the group’s presence to the large, strategic UK market and amplifying its product offering particularly with an interesting range of natural top-notes.
Today, Nactarome represents a unique, strategic asset with a complete product offering across natural flavours, colours and ingredients addressing an array of end-markets and applications. A leading independent player in the European natural flavours and ingredients sector, Nactarome boasts revenues in excess of €110m and a diversified customer base of over 4,200 clients served through ten specialised plants across Europe.
