Energy Wave
Overview
Energy Wave is an Energy Service Company (ESCo) with headquarters in Alessandria (Italy) and a widespread presence across North West Italy. It was established in June 2018 as a spin-off of the energy service business of Restiani S.p.A.. Energy Wave offers energy efficient heating solutions to private residential customers (large residential buildings with centralized heating systems), with a leading market position and strong brand recognition in North West Italy. The company is focused on installing, maintaining and operating gas-fired centralized heating systems through a heat-as-a-service proposition, aimed at reducing costs for heating and reducing energy consumption.
Ambienta invested in Energy Wave in August 2017. In November 2019, Energy Wave was sold to Getec Energie, a German energy service group backed by private equity manager EQT.
Environmental Thesis
Energy efficiency is the critical competitive driver in the residential heating sector, both for economic and environmental reasons. Therefore, heating solutions are increasingly becoming more efficient. The company has a large Environmental Impact because it provides the best applicable technology while replacing old and inefficient heating solutions. Energy Wave also drives a CO2 emissions reduction, since its advanced heating devices (i.e. condensing boilers) are much more efficient than their older alternatives and every unit of energy saved naturally entails a corresponding CO2 emission reduction. The Environmental Impact driven by buildings under contract with Energy Wave in 2018 has been estimated to be 5,473 ton of oil equivalent (ToE) of Energy Saved and 13,985 tons of CO2 Emission Reduced.
