REPAKT
Overview
REPAKT is a buy-and-build initiative focused on creating a leading player in the design and manufacturing of high-end automatic machines for sustainable packaging solutions. The group develops advanced equipment that enables customers to select the most appropriate sustainable packaging formats, including paper, biodegradable or recycled films, and lightweight alternatives to rigid packaging such as pouches.
Ambienta’s investment thesis was to build a unique platform offering a comprehensive portfolio of sustainable packaging machinery, bringing together best-in-class segment leaders with a global footprint across paper-based solutions and recycled or biodegradable polymer applications.
The strategy brought together five complementary companies - HolwegWeber, Karlville Swiss, Amutec, SCAE, and Mobert - under a single management team and rebranded them as REPAKT, offering a comprehensive range of machinery across paper, recycled, biodegradable films, and lightweight packaging alternatives. The company serves a wide range of sectors including e-commerce, food and beverage, waste and industrial applications, working with some of the world’s leading packaging producers. With production sites in Europe, the US and Asia, REPAKT employs over 400 people globally.

Environmental Thesis
Packaging is a major environmental challenge, driving resource consumption and waste. Ambienta began exploring the sector in 2016 with the Sustainability & Strategy team’s Ambienta Lens, “Packaging: a consumer journey and a material issue.” REPAKT designs and manufactures flexible packaging machinery enabling the use of paper, recycled, and compostable materials. Its solutions support over 44,000 tonnes of materials recycled and 18,000 tonnes of pollutants avoided annually.
